Falcons 12U win in Peterborough

Jun. 17, 2024

This past weekend, the U12 Falcons participated in the 2024 Strike Out Cancer Baseball Tournament in Peterborough Ontario.

The team had an amazing weekend finishing undefeated with a 3-0 record to claim a spot in the finals vs. the Kanata Cubs.  Sporting their pink socks and belts, The Falcons started off the tournament with a 6-1 win over the Clarington Orioles led by a strong start on the mound by Kael Beaver.  Brady Baglieri had a triple and a double to pace the offense and received player of the game.  The Falcons won both of their remaining games on Saturday, beating The Ajax Spartans 10-6 and the Whitby Canadians 9-6.

The Falcons started slow in the final trailing 5-1 in the third inning, but the boys were resilient in their offensive approach, scoring five runs in the 5th inning, and shutting down the Cubs offense in the 6th and 7th innings to secure the championship medals with a 10-8 score.  Owen Copfer got the win on the mound for the Falcons, and Joey Rogers collected 3 hits to lead the charge offensively
